Global Game Jam 2013: Pulse

Natus Eclat presents: Pulse

Pulse is a game of detection and destruction, where a player has to search for and eliminate the enemy who's hiding in a crowd of innocent units.

First Post: The Introduction

First off, welcome to the blog!

My name is Bei Hao, most people call me Wade.
I'm currently schooling in Republic Polytechnic's School of Technology for the Arts (STA), studying for the Diploma in Game Design.

My role in a game design team is the Designer.
My decision to become a designer came from days from my childhood where I would play games, enjoy it, and when I'm brought (or dragged) outside by my parents, I would think of how I could make that game even more fun, how to transform it into something that would make me enjoy it even more.

Those thoughts that happened so often ended up becoming a hobby of mine during Primary school, where I would redesign games like Pokemon onto a sketchbook as an analog game, bring it to school and have most of the guys in my class play the game (of course, they came willingly.)

Those redesigns became so successful that it inspired me to be a game designer.

Now, about the team I'm in...

I'm currently in a team called Natus Eclat (Born for Glory).
It is made up of myself and a group of very reliable friends.
Namely:
Jerahmeel,
Jonie,
Daniel
And Bradley.

We first started working together at a game-making event called the Global Game Jam. During the event, we managed to create a fantastic, simple game called Pulse. The journey to creating the game was so fun that we've decided to stick together as a team for the Final Year Project.

More posts will come regarding the new projects that we will be working on.

Thanks for reading!

Side Note: Music was also one of the things that I would think about as a kid. I would re-compose them in my head, constantly seeking an improved composition that would give me an adrenaline rush while listening to it. This side of me wants to be a musician, and I'm working on becoming one, hopefully. I took classes for the Keyboard and the Guitar, and I'm currently taking Vocal classes, in hopes of becoming the lead Vocalist for a Rock Band someday!
